Dutchtown Research LaboratoriesDRL / Sentinel / SRF Methodology
One continuous path from evidence to an official record.
The Sentinel Reasoning Framework separates the work into six ordered stages. Each stage does one job, preserves its result, and passes that result forward. A later stage cannot quietly rewrite an earlier one.
APPROVE
Collect and protect the proof.
A case begins with controlled intake. Evidence is gathered, preserved, organized, reviewed, and prepared for analysis. APPROVE builds a reliable record; it does not decide the case.
Stage outputReliable evidence recordGATE
Check whether the case can move forward.
GATE applies the relevant rules, confirms scope and urgency, and decides whether the matter is eligible for full analysis. If it cannot proceed, the reason is recorded instead of silently dropping the case.
Stage outputEligible path or recorded stopCLEAR
Examine the case and produce The Finding.
CLEAR studies context, logic, evidence, uncertainty, and possible responses. It tests competing explanations and identifies what the current record and Sentinel’s method presently best support.
Named CLEAR determinationThe Finding states the result clearly, shows meaningful limits or resistance, preserves human authority over action, and remains open to governed reassessment. It is not ultimate truth and it is not the human decision.
Stage outputThe FindingVOICE
Explain the finding without changing it.
VOICE turns the validated analysis into language suited to the audience. It may make the finding easier to understand, but it cannot soften, strengthen, or alter the substance.
Stage outputFaithful explanationRESOLVE
Choose and carry out the authorized decision.
RESOLVE turns the human-reviewed finding into a proportionate action. The decision is selected, outlined, logged, validated, and executed without separating the action from its reasons.
Stage outputAuthorized actionSTAMP
Make the act official and preserve it.
STAMP signs, timestamps, attributes, memorializes, and preserves the completed determination. For Shield, this produces the enduring Moderation Decision Record.

CLEAR output / The Finding
What the record and Sentinel’s method presently best support.
The Finding is CLEAR’s named determination. It states the result, calibrates confidence without fake precision, and shows important limitations. RESOLVE may accept or depart from it when recording the authorized human decision. The Finding is not a seventh stage, ultimate truth, or the action itself.
Continuity
Every stage inherits a preserved record.
The output of one stage becomes the controlled input of the next. That creates a visible chain from the original evidence to The Finding, the human decision, and the official act.
Separation
Each stage has authority—and limits.
Intake does not decide. Expression does not rewrite analysis. Execution does not invent new reasons. Keeping those jobs separate makes the process easier to inspect and challenge.
New evidence
Late evidence starts a linked supplemental review.
New material is never inserted halfway into a completed process. It begins a new governed review linked to the original record, which remains preserved.
The resulting record
MDR is the product of the methodology—not another stage.
In Shield, STAMP produces the Moderation Decision Record: the enduring record of the evidence, analysis, human decision, action, and attribution.
